Dick Morris ‘landslide’ prediction too early to call

At the 9 p.m. hour, every swing state in the 2012 election fell into a single category. “Too close to call,” agreed news outlets from CNN to the Associated Press to Fox News.
That state of affairs could spell a bit of trouble for Dick Morris, who recently said on a Fox News segment: “We’re going to win by a landslide. It will be the biggest surprise in recent American political history. It will rekindle a whole question as to why the media played this race as a nail-biter, where in fact I think that Romney is going to win by quite a bit. My own view is that Romney is going to carry 325 electoral votes.”
Well, stick with the company line that it’s too early to call those swing states. Accordingly, we won’t jump the gun on calling Morris’s Romney-landslide projection. Fair to say, however, that this landslide may have an uphill battle before it gets into a position to slide back down the hill.
