Look, honey, we don’t have to fight about this. I’ll let you get those Emerson SmartSet Lamp Control Timers if you’ll let me dig that moat.
Personally, I like to go with a proven solution. And the simple, effective moat managed to keep the feudal lords in power for, like, a thousand years. Rampaging Visigoths, invading Moors, peasant uprisings, even – if the legends are to be believed – dragons: none were any match for an expanse of stagnant, pestilential water.
But hey, if you think turning the lights on and off at various intervals will keep burglars at bay, let’s give it a try. I don’t see the harm in it. Just plug the Emerson SmartSet Lamp Control Timer into the outlet in the wall, plug a lamp into the outlet on the timer, set the lamp to “on”, and program the timer to create the illusion that people are at home.
Personally, I don’t see it dissuading a ragtag mob of starving serfs. But the moat will take care of them. Unless they have a catapult or something, I guess. But your Emerson SmartSet Lamp Control Timers don’t offer much in the anti-siege-engine department, either, so it’s a wash.
